What You'll Do:
Follow established routines and procedures to ensure smooth classroom operations during the regular teacher's absence. Maintain order and discipline in the classroom, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment. Receive prepared lesson plans and facilitate classroom activities, group work, and discussions. Adapt instructional programs to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, lunchrooms, and playgrounds to ensure their safety and well-being. Build effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community. Communicate classroom activities, completed work, homework assignments, and any issues to the absent teacher. Attend meetings and serve on staff committees as appropriate. Comply with NY State Education Department's regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned by school building administrators.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year of related childcare/teaching experience. Certified Teachers Preferred but not required. • Comply with NY State Education Department's regulations.
