Substitute Teacher Daily Rate:
$135/day for first 20 days $245.04 for each day thereafter. 1. As defined by the Ohio Department of Education, a "long term" substitute professional staff member assignment is any assignment for the same person in the same position for more than five consecutive days. 2. For the first twenty (20) days in the same assignment, the current substitute PSM daily rate. 3. Beginning with the 21st day in the same assignment - a daily rate commensurate with a Bachelor's Degree and no experience on the current PSM salary schedule. 4. From the 1st to the 60th day in the same assignment, substitute PSM will NOT be paid scheduled days schools are closed such as in-service days, calamity days, etc. No fringe benefits are accrued. 5. Beginning with the 61st day (within a school year) of continuously working in the same assignment, benefits will begin to accrue (sick days, personal days, calamity days) and medical and dental insurance may be purchased at 50% of the Board's cost. If there is a break in continuous service, these benefits are lost. 6. Substitutes that meet the Affordable Care Act eligibility requirements for health insurance coverage will be offered the High Deductible Health Insurance Plan available at the time of Eligibility.
