Job Description

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Active Pennsylvania teaching certificate appropriate for position Preferred but not required Demonstrate an average working knowledge of technology used by the District Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work well with others and have a positive attitude Ability to organize, supervise, and set priorities Ability to work effectively in a school office setting characterized by frequent interruptions
Job Goal:
The building substitute is responsible for supporting the students, Teachers, and administrators as assigned throughout the school day. The building substitute serves primarily in an academic support. Capacity, however, may serve in other areas as needed.

SREA Collective Bargaining Agreement and District Policy Performance Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the principal, their designee, or the corresponding faculty member, keeps students on task during classroom instruction. This might include answering general questions, distributing materials, etc. Take attendance at the beginning of each class and ensure that students are where they are supposed to be and are on task Execute lesson plans consistent with teacher guidelines and instructions Under the direction of the corresponding faculty member, work with individual students that need extra help with subject(s) Assist students with organizational skills, including organization of lockers, coordination of materials with schedule, clarification of directions, navigation of teacher websites, and keeping homework agenda up to date Provide support to teachers, administrators, and students Provide additional adult supervision at beginning of the day, lunch and at the end of the day as assigned Assist teachers in addressing student behavioral issues Monitoring class during teacher's absence Become familiar with school emergency protocols Daily flexibility is essential to adapt to various buildings, grade levels, and subjects. Adhere to all school policies and proceduresResponsibilities Other duties as assigned throughout the Superintendent or his/her designee
Pay:
From $52,660.00 per year
