Corpus Christi, TX Job Details $15 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description St. John Paul II Academy is hiring a Substitute Teacher for the middle campus. The Substitute Teacher supports the instructional program by maintaining a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role requires following the provided lesson plans, supervising students at all times, and ensuring continuity of learning and classroom expectations. The Substitute Teacher upholds school policies, models respectful behavior, and communicates effectively with students and staff to support a positive and faith‑centered school environment.
Ministerial Character:
The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church ("the Diocese") entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Responsibilities:

As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed Communicate professionally with staff, students and community members Adhere to all rules and regulations on the campus and in the classroom Manage classroom and set expectations for students Follow the teacher's lesson plan and provide instruction to students to work on the assignment given Keep all information about individual students confidential Seek guidance from Principal when needed Perform other duties as assigned
Mental/Physical Demands:
Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to maintain composure under duress
Organization Improvement and Morale:
Demonstrates a professional attitude as a member of diocesan staff Maintains confidentiality in matters of assigned department and the diocese Serves as a representative of the diocese displaying courtesy, tact, positivity, and discretion in all interactions with colleagues and community served Carries out commitments made to diocesan colleagues and community served Employs professional ethics in relationships with diocesan colleagues and community served Positively contributes to the overall mission and values of the Diocese of Corpus Christi to promote a positive organizational culture
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Teaching or instruction skills are preferred Strong organiztion and multi-tasking skills Valid Texas driver's license Must be 21 years of age or older Special Knowledge /
Skills:
Knowledge of basic computer applications Ability to multi-task Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements:
