Summary Locust Grove Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a Long Term Substitute for Grade 3. This position requires an enthusiastic educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring that students achieve their academic goals. The successful candidate will step in for the regular teacher, maintaining continuity in instruction and supporting students' social and emotional development. Responsibilities Deliver engaging and effective lesson plans in accordance with the established curriculum for Grade 3. Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing feedback to students and parents. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. Collaborate with other educators and staff to support student learning and development. Manage classroom behavior effectively, implementing school-wide policies and procedures. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required. Adapt instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of all learners in the classroom. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Follow all school and district policies and procedures. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education preferred. Valid teaching certification or license for elementary education. Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience, preferably in Grade 3 or similar age group. Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
