Long Term Substitute Teacher - Math Grade 6

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Substitute Teacher for 6th Grade Math at Locust Grove Middle. This role is essential in providing continuity of education and maintaining a positive learning environment for students during the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching math, capable of engaging students, and committed to fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere. Responsibilities Deliver effective and engaging math instruction to 6th-grade students, following the established curriculum. Create lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback. Maintain classroom management and a positive learning environment. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience for students. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, as required. Attend faculty meetings and participate in professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; a focus on mathematics is preferred. Valid teaching certification or license in the state is preferred. Previous experience teaching middle school math is preferred. Strong understanding of math concepts and curriculum for 6th grade preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate students in a classroom setting. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
