Commensurate with experience Peninsula Catholic High School is seeking dependable and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to join our substitute teacher pool. Substitute teachers play an important role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment when a classroom teacher is absent. This is a flexible, on-call position with assignments available based on school needs and substitute availability.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher. Provide appropriate classroom supervision and facilitate assigned lessons and activities. Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment. Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and classroom expectations. Encourage student participation and completion of assigned coursework. Follow established classroom routines, schedules, and school procedures. Communicate any important information regarding the school day to the classroom teacher and/or administration. Perform additional supervisory duties, such as lunch, study hall, arrival, dismissal, or other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications Qualified candidates should:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or a bachelor's degree is preferred. Have experience working with adolescents; classroom or educational experience is a plus. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be dependable, professional, patient, and flexible. Be comfortable supervising and managing high school students.
