Job Description

Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher Needed

Location:

Hinesburg Community School

This position will remain open until filled. However, applications received within the first seven days of posting will receive priority consideration. Internal candidates will also be prioritized over external applicants during this initial seven-day window.

Hinesburg Community School (HCS) is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher. The position begins August 31 and lasts through the end of December. Work will be intermittent. A middle level endorsement in math is required for this position.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide middle school math instruction (grades 6-8) aligned with Common Core Standards.

Integrate science concepts into the math curriculum.

Utilize Proficiency-Based Learning and formative assessment practices to assess student progress.

Use technology and data to inform instruction and create a responsive learning environment.

Implement equitable classroom practices, including culturally responsive teaching and anti-bias/anti-racist approaches.

Apply Responsive Classroom, PBIS, and behavior management strategies.

Maintain regular communication with families and provide differentiated instruction.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

A required middle level endorsement in math.

High skill in middle school math instruction and experience with science integration.

Strong understanding of middle school students' development.

Exceptional organization, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively.

Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities with students.

Proficiency in creating an inclusive, data-driven learning environment.
