Assistant Teacher- Job Description Responsibilities
  • Assist lead teachers in lesson planning and classroom management
  • Clean and arrange classroom in accordance to program goals
  • Assist with diaper changes, toilet, and potty training
  • Report any suspect abuse or neglect
  • Meet all licensing regulations
  • Help maintain communication with parents
  • Assist in learning activities
  • Keep classroom and hallway bulletin board fresh and inviting
  • Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and parents
  • Assist with meal service and record keeping
  • Assume responsibilities of classroom when needed
  • Supervise daily meals and playground activities
  • Conduct activities assigned by lead teacher
  • Monitor the performance of students
  • Help maintain records of student progress and needs
  • Ensure wellbeing and safety of children
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Knowledge of basic childcare principles
  • Ongoing professional development in the field of childcare (PDR hours minimum 25)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional personal appearance and work behavior at all times
  • Ability to work well with students with various ages and learning needs
  • Prior experience in childcare
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$13.50 - $15.00 per hour
