Non exempt

7:50 am

•3:25 pm

SALARY:

$19,222.22

•21,091.22

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assist in conducting learning experiences for students in assigned areas; perform a variety of clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; and to perform related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Certification:

An Associate of Arts Degree or 60 College hours or High School Diploma/GED and Successful Completion of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment with qualifying score.(Documentation must be provided.)

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Knowledge of:

General Concepts of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics.

General Purposes and goals of public education.

Ability to:

Assume responsibility for supervising students.

Learn and utilize basic methods and procedures to be followed in instructional settings.

Perform routine clerical work and basic arithmetical calculation.

Demonstrate an understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward children.

Understand and carry out oral and written instruction.

Maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents and the general public.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Tutor or assist a group of children designed by the teacher.

Review and summarize learning of specific skills.

Repeat a lesson when necessary.

Dispense and clean up materials.

Assist the teacher in special class demonstrations.

Assist in monitoring student's seatwork.

Oversees and supervises students during classroom activities in library and on field trips.

Maintains discipline in the absence of the teacher.
