Job Description
Part-time or full-time • No teaching certificate required Umbrella Academy is a private K-12 microschool on a 2.5-acre desert campus in Cave Creek, where kids learn by doing — running real student businesses, building projects, caring for our chickens and garden, and mastering academics in small cohorts instead of big classrooms. We're looking for an Assistant Teacher to help bring our days to life. You don't need a teaching certificate. You need warmth, patience, and genuine love for being around kids. What you'll do Assist with activities, projects, workshops, and lessons across our K-12 cohorts Support project time — helping students plan, build, and bring their own ideas to life Help keep our days flowing: morning circle, small-group learning blocks, lunch, cleanup routines Jump into hands-on learning — cooking, gardening, animal care, outdoor adventures You must be Be a steady, encouraging presence kids can trust Warm, understanding, and patient — you meet kids where they are Reliable and hands-on, happy to pitch in wherever the day needs you Excited about project-based, real-world learning Able to obtain an AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card A big plus Experience supporting neurodivergent kids Background in childcare, tutoring, camps, coaching — or raising your own
