REPORTS TO
Principal or Designee General Description Head Percussion Instructor falls under the direct supervision of the High School Band Director. The Head Percussion Instructor works directly with the band director to develop and maintain a successful percussion program, both as an element of the marching band, and as a separate unit in the winter Indoor Percussion season. Responsibilities Work with students . Collaborate with the band director to write and design effective performance shows. Write and arrange percussion music. Organize and lead effective rehearsals in a positive, professional environment, focusing on equality, engagement, and excellence. Attend all performances and competitions. Interact with students, parents, and other instructors in a professional manner. Manage percussion equipment and coordinate with band director on equipment needs. Desired Qualifications Experience performing and teaching percussion instruments Experience performing and/or teaching in a competitive circuit. Flexibility in meeting the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds and abilities. Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Required Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
