This position provides direct instructional and behavioral support to students with disabilities in both general education and specialized settings while working collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and administrators to help every student achieve success. Responsibilities include assisting students with academic instruction, implementing accommodations, supporting positive behavior strategies, and helping create an inclusive learning environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide instructional support to students individually and in small groups. Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as directed by certified staff. Reinforce academic concepts in reading, writing, mathematics, and other subject areas. Support students in general education classrooms and specialized instructional settings. Assist with behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports. Collect and maintain accurate student progress and behavioral data. Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources. Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and school activities as assigned. Foster student independence while providing appropriate levels of support. Assist with classroom organization and maintaining a safe learning environment. Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information. Communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families when appropriate. Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma required. Associate degree or 60 college credit hours preferred. Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred. Ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in a fast-paced environment. Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to lift up-to 40 pounds and assist students with mobility or physical needs when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience in special education or inclusive classroom settings. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Crisis prevention/de-escalation training is a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply.
