Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in a nurturing educational environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and specialists to provide tailored assistance to students, fostering their academic and social development. This role requires a strong commitment to helping students achieve their educational goals while promoting an inclusive classroom atmosphere. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Support students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs in their daily activities. Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment. Provide support in literacy education, math, and other subject areas as needed. Foster social skills and encourage positive interactions among peers. Assist in the supervision of students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions. Change diapers and assist in toilet training for students as needed Experience Candidates should possess experience working with children in various educational settings.
Preferred qualifications include:
Background in special education or related fields. Experience working with individuals who have disabilities, particularly autism support. Familiarity with early childhood education principles, childhood development, and classroom management techniques. Previous roles involving childcare, preschool experience, or private school settings are advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff. Knowledge of behavior management strategies and experience in lesson planning are highly valued.
