Job Description
St. Mary's School, an IB World School, has an opening for an experienced Instructional Assistant in our Early Education Program (Ages 2
- 5). Typical hours are 7:45
- 4:00, Monday
- Friday throughout the school year.
Reports to:
Head of Early Education Purpose:
To provide assistance for Early Education classroom teachers and Outdoor Curriculum teacher by creating a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth of the students (ages 2- 5).
Duties:
Provides student (ages 2- 5) supervision during classroom Teacher or Instructional Assistant breaks in order to ensure that students are in ratio.
Minimum Requirements:
12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units completed prior to start date that include Child, Family & Community, Principles of Early Education and Child Human Growth & Development (Early Years). Completed courses in Guidance & Discipline and Programs & Curriculum preferred but not required. Full understanding of developmental levels of children (Ages 2- 5) and corresponding curriculum.
