EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have an AA degree or higher or at least 48 semester units of General Education or pass an Assessment Test.
- One year of experience working with children in an educational, therapeutic, or child care setting.
- Completion of specialized training in the area of instructional services, psychology or guidance is highly desirable.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR; general concepts of child growth, development, and child behavior characteristics.
- Knowledge of strategies used in managing and motivating students with behavioral, motivational and social emotional needs.
- Knowledge of behavior modification techniques with or without the presence of certificated team member
- Knowledge of Individualized Educational Program (IEP) goals and objectives for special education students.
- Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students.
- Ability to be flexible in making quick changes in daily lessons for individual or total group.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate and concise records and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and others encountered in the course of work.
