Trout Gulch Road, Aptos, CA Position Overview The Behavioral Aide Paraprofessional provides individualized support to campers with behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, or physical needs within the structured summer day camp environment at Four Points Youth Camp LLC. Working closely with camp counselors, program staff, and, when applicable, the camper's care team, the Behavioral Aide ensures each camper can safely and meaningfully participate in all camp activities. This is a seasonal, full-time position running from June 22 through August 7, 2026.Position Details Organization:

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, or as neededCompensation:
Competitive hourly rate; commensurate with experience Key Responsibilities Individualized Camper Support Implement individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) and/or individualized education program (IEP) accommodations as directed. Provide 1:1 or small-group support to assigned camper(s) throughout daily activities. Use positive behavioral supports, reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation techniques to promote camper success. Monitor and document camper behavior, progress, and incidents accurately and consistently. Program Participation Facilitate camper participation in Four Points Youth Camp programming including arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, nature exploration, and group games. Adapt activities and materials to meet each camper's individual needs and learning style. Encourage peer interactions and social skill development in a supportive, inclusive environment. Assist with transitions between activities, meals, and rest periods. Safety & Health Maintain constant supervision of assigned camper(s) to ensure physical safety at all times. Respond appropriately to behavioral crises using approved intervention protocols. Administer basic first aid as needed and report health concerns to medical staff immediately. Follow all Four Points Youth Camp safety procedures, emergency protocols, and mandatory reporting obligations. Communication & Collaboration Maintain open and professional communication with camp counselors, supervisors, and program staff. Provide daily verbal or written updates to the supervisor regarding camper behavior and progress. Participate in pre-camp orientation (prior to June 22), training sessions, and weekly team meetings. Communicate respectfully and sensitively with families as directed by supervisory staff. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in education, psychology, social work, or a related field preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), positive behavior support (PBS), or similar frameworks. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to June 22, 2026). Ability to pass a background check and meet all California state requirements for working with minors. Physically able to keep pace with campers in an active outdoor environment, including lifting up to 40 lbs if required. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related field. Experience implementing IEPs, BSPs, or 504 plans in a school or camp setting. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or equivalent training. Previous summer camp or recreational program experience. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus. Core Competencies Patience, empathy, and genuine enthusiasm for working with children with diverse needs. Strong de-escalation and crisis management skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building trusting relationships with campers. Excellent observational and written documentation skills.
