FUNCTION
Under the direction of a Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom, program or other learning environment; assist teachers with the preparation of instructional materials; tutor students in assigned subject areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children in an organized setting or obtained an AA degree or higher

MATERIALS MATERIALS
Minimum Qualifications:
Under the direction of a Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom, program or other learning environment; assist teachers with the preparation of instructional materials; tutor students in assigned subject areas.
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children in an organized setting or obtained an AA degree or higher. Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Valid First aid and CPR certificates.
Environment:
Classroom or learning environment
Physical Demands:
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Seeing to monitor students.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate assigned equipment and demonstrate activities.
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to assist students.
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
