Job Description

Private Montessori preschool in Granite Bay is currently accepting Teacher's Assistant (closing position) applications for our Early Childhood classroom (ages 2 yrs. - 3 yrs.). Ideal candidates will assist our lead teachers with classroom management, assist students with Montessori jobs, support our lead teachers to ensure a beautiful classroom environment, oversee lunch responsibilities, establish a calm, relaxed afternoon napping environment for our students, and work in a collaborative fashion with other preschool staff members. Students are in different stages of toilet training so candidates must be willing to assist with diapering throughout the day. We are looking for candidates who are reliable, punctual, and committed to our students (and other staff members) and are supportive of our growing Montessori preschool community.
Position Details:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Applicant Preference:
Possess a minimum of 6 core ECE units and willingness to take 6 additional units (transcripts required) Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Have a minimum of 1 year of classroom experience working with young children.
Skills:
Montessori experience is a plus, however, it is not a requirement. Possess a keen sense of awareness of their environment (multi-tasker, alert to surroundings). Friendly and approachable (with students and parents). Positive, energetic personality enjoys working with children. Patient, understanding, able to follow instructions and adhere to specific schedules. Can meet the physical demands of working with preschool aged children (bending, stooping, floor work, lifting children). Able to manage students in a classroom and playground setting. Strict adherence to school policies and ability to interpret and enforce rules. CPR / first aid certification preferred, or willing to obtain training. Requirements /
Qualifications:
Copies of transcripts reflecting 6 (or more) core ECE units Applicants who have completed a minimum of 9 units and are currently enrolled in a program will be considered. Please include transcripts for review when submitting your application. Tuition assistance to meet the 12 unit requirement will be discussed at the time of interview. Qualified applicants should submit a resume, copy of transcripts, and 2 references for consideration.
