$19-22/hr

Duties and Responsibilities:
Each SLS Instructor's duties shall include but not be limited to:
  • Provide skills training and learning opportunities to individuals with mild intellectual disabilities.
  • Remind individuals to take medication (if required)
  • Remind individuals to complete household chores
  • Assist individuals with meal preparation and grocery shopping
  • Teach individuals how to budget their money
  • Attend outings and community events with other individuals and staff from the company.
  • Provide transportation to medical and dental appointments (when needed)
  • Communicate results of medical appointments with manager
  • Teach individuals how to do laundry (if required)
  • Maintain daily log of events that occur with individuals who are being assisted
  • Attends monthly staff and in-service training sessions.
The term "individuals" refers to our clients who have mild intellectual disabilities.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour

How do you deal with it? A client is capable of preparing their own meal but asks you to prepare it for them. How would you respond? If you realize shortly before your scheduled shift that you cannot report to work, what steps would you take? Why are you interested in becoming an SLS Instructor? Do you have your own mobile transportation? If so, are you OK with transporting clients to local destinations when needed? Ex. Transporting a client to grocery store, medical appointments, laundry mat, etc. How many hours per week are you looking for? Are you comfortable actively teaching independent-living skills rather than doing tasks for the client?
