Job responsibilities would include helping the teacher maintain good classroom order, helping students with their work, and assisting the lead teacher to make each day as productive as possible for the students in the classroom. Applicant should have a desire to work with high-risk youth and most importantly must be able to command the respect of the students he or she works with. Sports coaching experience is a plus. This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday and following a normal school calendar (including summer school). This job is a year-around position. This position also comes with a benefits package that includes health, dental and vision benefits. This an opportunity to work with primarily inner-city students who are in need of great adult role models. We are looking for the type of individual who can help our high-risk students get their school lives back on track and moving in a positive direction. Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized behavior plans for students with special needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in areas such as literacy, communication, and social skills
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with individuals with emotional disturbances, behavioral challenges and learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
