Job Description
DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Preschool Director, this position is a 25 hour position working a closing shift with another teacher, Monday- Friday, 12:30 pm
- 5:30 pm.
EXPECTATION
A Preschool Co-Teacher is a Christian by affirmation and example and supports the mission and vision of Christ Lutheran Church and School (CLCS). An active member of CLCS is preferred. Must have an affinity for young children. Confidentiality will be respected.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Has knowledge of and complies with Title 22 requirements and mandated reporter requirements. Plans, supervises, and implements the class program in accordance with the school's policies and philosophy as stated in the handbook. Treats children with dignity and respect in relation to their individual style and needs. Assists with planning curriculum for the assigned classroom. Shares responsibility for the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the classroom. Assumes an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities. Assists as needed with students' toileting and hand washing needs. Attends all staff meetings. Attends one professional growth event each year. Implements methods for effectively using the services of classroom assistants and volunteers. Establishes positive relationships with parents of the students and fellow staff members. Attends after-hours events and programs and assists with planning as requested. Sets and completes measurable annual goals. Performs related duties as assigned by the Preschool Director.EDUCATION MINIMUM
12 Early Childhood Education units and licensed by the State of California as a Preschool Teacher.EXPERIENCE MINIMUM
2 years progressively responsible experience as an Early Childhood teacher.SPECIAL SKILLS
Leadership, conflict resolution, diplomacy, and flexibility.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift up to 40 lbs., twist, bend, reach, push and pull. May be required to sit on the floor, kneel, or crawl. Maybe required to stand and observe children indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time. Must have adequate speech, vision, and hearing. Qualified individuals with a disability as defined by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) may be exempt from physical requirements for non-essential functions.Job Type:
Part-time Qualifications:
Experience working with children ages 2- 5. Transcripts with 12
- 15 units of child development completed which includes Child Development, Child, Family and Community, and two Curriculum classes. Fingerprint clearance through Live Scan. Current Mandated Reporter Certification Required Immunizations
- MMR, DTap, Influenza
- and a current TB test and Health Screening completed by physician.
