Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Grade:
Full Time, Non-Exempt, Potential Union Hours:
7.5 hours between 7am to 6pm Monday to
Friday Rate Range:
$18.74 to $22.65 per hour (based on experience) Summary The J Los Angeles's Early Childhood Center (ECC) is a community-based school with Jewish values at its core. The J Los Angeles is looking for energetic, open-minded assistant teachers to help foster curiosity, exploration, and respect with young children. Candidates should love working with children and believe that preschoolers are competent individuals worthy of a loving, engaging environment. Judaic values and traditions are incorporated into everyday learning. Responsibilities and Duties:
Interacting and connecting with children, families, and J Los Angeles partners in ways that support strong relationships, respect, and collaboration. Working in a team to maintain a healthy, safe, and engaging classroom environment, develop curriculum and care for a group of 12-18 preschoolers. Supporting a rich play-based curriculum based in Judaic values and traditions and a strong view of children as learners and thinkers. Approaching conflicts as opportunities to learn and coaching children to be problem solvers. Qualifications and Skills A minimum of 12 ECE units At least 1 year of experience working with young children in a school or center setting Excellent communication skills Willingness to work collaboratively and problem solve Ability to be self-directed, manage time and complete projects Open to learning, ability to self-reflect regularly Able to meet the physical demands of the position (i.e., care for active young children, repetitive bending and lifting) Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (Must be willing to obtain) J Los Angeles is an equal opportunity employer committed to complying with all applicable laws providing equal employment opportunity and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
