Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a role that makes a real impact by supporting students in an educational setting. This contract opportunity offers 35 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year. As a paraprofessional, you'll provide dedicated 1:1 support to an elementary student with extreme behaviors, working collaboratively with the educational team to promote a safe and productive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Prior experience in a school setting, ideally working as a paraprofessional Strong background in supporting students exhibiting aggressive behaviors Proven ability to implement strategies for behavioral management Dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance Comfortable and willing to assist with toileting and personal care needs Genuine passion for working with children, displaying patience and empathy Experience in 1:1 pediatric roles is highly valuedResponsibilities:
Provide individualized support and supervision to a student with high behavioral needs Assist the lead teacher and other staff in implementing behavior management plans Monitor student's safety and well-being throughout the school day Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through positive reinforcement Maintain clear and timely communication with teachers, administrators, and student support teams Support the student with daily routines, including toileting and self-care tasks Model calm, responsive behavior in challenging situations This role offers the chance to contribute to a student's growth in a nurturing academic environment while collaborating with dedicated professionals.
