Make a Difference in Someone's Life! We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, patient, and responsible Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support to an adult with special needs. This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and wants meaningful work that makes a positive difference. The DSP will support the individual with

•daily living skills, personal care, community participation, transportation, appointments, and activities that promote greater independence and quality of life.

•The position follows a person-centered approach , emphasizing independence, choice, dignity, community inclusion, and skill development. Key Responsibilities Personal Care & Daily Living Skills Provide respectful, individualized assistance with activities of daily living as needed. Assist with dressing, showering, personal hygiene, and toileting when support is required. Encourage and support the individual to complete tasks as independently as possible. Provide appropriate prompts, reminders, and guidance to develop and maintain independent living skills. Respect the individual's privacy, dignity, preferences, and personal choices. Community Participation & Transportation Safely transport the individual to medical appointments, errands, recreational activities, and community outings . Ensure the individual arrives on time and prepared for scheduled appointments and activities . Support participation in meaningful recreational, social, and community activities. Encourage independence, appropriate decision-making, and safe community participation. Must be comfortable driving the individual and have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation . Independent Living Support Prepare simple snacks and meals. Assist with maintaining appropriate daily routines and schedules. Support the development of practical independent living skills. Assist with organizing and scheduling appointments. Provide reminders for appointments, activities, and daily responsibilities. Encourage participation in household and self-care routines rather than completing tasks unnecessarily for the individual. Direct Support & Companionship Provide supervision and companionship in a safe, respectful, and positive environment. Engage the individual in activities based on their interests and preferences. Encourage socialization, recreation, and meaningful community involvement. Provide individualized support while promoting autonomy and independence. Communicate appropriately with the family and support team regarding appointments, activities, concerns, and changes in routine. Follow established support strategies and routines. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is: Dependable and punctual , particularly for medical and scheduled appointments. Compassionate, patient, and respectful. Comfortable supporting an adult with special needs or developmental disabilities. Comfortable providing hands-on assistance with personal care. Able to encourage independence rather than doing everything for the individual. Responsible and safety-conscious. Organized and able to follow schedules and routines. Comfortable driving and transporting the individual in the community. Comfortable preparing simple meals and snacks. Able to work independently while maintaining appropriate communication with the individual's support team. Available for evening and weekend shifts, particularly Saturdays . Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a DSP, caregiver, personal assistant, respite worker, BHT, paraprofessional, or similar role . Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, or other special needs. Experience assisting with activities of daily living and personal care. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Valid California driver's license. Reliable vehicle and acceptable driving record. Ability to meet applicable background check and employment requirements. Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 15.0 per week
