Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent GED and some experience working with children in a learning or organized setting. Incumbents must meet requirements specified under every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). In addition, must meet on of the following:- Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 units);
- Obtained an associate's or higher degree (college level); OR
- Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics.
Examination and Interview Process:
Candidates who successfully pass application screening will participate in the following competitive recruitment testing phases, as applicable based on minimum qualification status:Written Examination:
Candidates who do not meet the educational minimum qualifications will be required to complete a paraprofessional equivalency examination. This multiple choice examination is administered on a continuous basis, typically once per month.- Panel Interview (Required): All candidates who meet the minimum qualifications, or who successfully pass the paraprofessional examination, will be required to participate in a panel interview.

Requests for alternate or rescheduled testing or interview dates will not be granted. Candidates are expected to be available for all scheduled components of the recruitment testing process.Application Screening and Recruitment Process:
