Instructional Aide - Sunnyvale, CA Job DescriptionJob Description Support a dynamic classroom environment as an ASL paraprofessional, offering essential assistance to a kindergarten student in a temporary role. Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to foster an inclusive and supportive learning experience. This contract opportunity runs weekdays from 8:15am to 2:50pm, with built-in 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience as a paraprofessional or similar role in an educational setting Ability to work one-on-one with young learners, offering patience and encouragement Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Flexibility and adaptability to meet classroom needsResponsibilities:
Provide direct ASL interpretation and instructional support for a kindergarten girl in a school environment Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and activities, ensuring accessibility and engagement Foster a positive, welcoming atmosphere while supporting the student's individual learning goals Monitor student's progress and offer feedback to instructional staff as needed Assist with daily classroom routines and transitions, maintaining a safe learning space This is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on a student's kindergarten experience, utilizing your ASL skills in a nurturing and hands-on environment.
