SUMMARY:
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for supporting the classroom team (Teacher and Master teacher) in the day to day operations of a California Young World, Inc. classroom (infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age). This position assists with lesson planning, classroom organization, set up and cleaning. Supervision and care of all children in the classroom group as a whole. Participating in the screenings and assessment of all children, the Teacher Assistant takes direction from the Teachers and the Site Supervisor on an ongoing basis. As a member of a classroom team this position takes the initiative to engage children while providing positive behavior supports. All staff complies with California Department of Education, Community Care Licensing, and agency policies and procedures.

Monday•Friday, 8:45 AM•5:45
PM Compensation:
$20•$23 per hour (Based upon Experience)
The Role:
Assumes responsibility for a team and the development and education of children. You will model developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies while overseeing classroom routines and meal-time clean-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Teachers with weekly lesson plans in accordance with program curriculum & assessment data. Supports Master Teacher/Teacher to maintain developmentally appropriate setting in compliance with Title 22 and H&S Code. Participates actively in the classroom communication system. Supervision and care of all children, under the supervision of a Teacher, the Teacher Assistant is NEVER left alone with children. Assists with collecting notes and collection of anecdotal data for assessment of children. Maintains good parent communication, providing positive feedback daily. Supports Positive Descriptive Acknowledgements (PDA's) to all children throughout the day. Help Complete DRDP records for every child, two times a year including parent conferences. For children 0-5 help Master Teacher/Teacher conduct ASQ3 and ASQ/SE on every child twice a year. Upload data to FIRST 5. Encourages a Family Meal Service for meals and snacks, supports clean environment. Assists children with self-help skills, toileting, diaper changing. Supports each child's progress towards milestones, and implements Positive Behavior Supports. Accepts responsibility for maintaining classroom in an organized, clean and inviting fashion. Works in collaboration with team for children with special needs. Attends regular team meetings to discuss plans for individual children, and classroom routine/set-up. Communicates with the Team-Teachers for support, exchange of ideas and problem solving. Encourages parents to participate in PAC sponsored activities and events. Conveys educational material and equipment needs to Master Teacher. Represents CYW in a professional manner. Assists in tracking of daily attendance utilizing the Daily Health Inspection Report. Conducts daily health inspections to ensure wellness of every child daily.

; 6+ months experience in a licensed facility. Must start within 3 weeks. Live Scan required (reimbursed after 90 days). Competent in childhood education and confident in their abilities.
Position Description:

Must have a passion for helping children grow and learn. Reliable, passionate about the ECE field, excellent customer service, knowledgeable, nurturing, a team player, and strong work ethic. Must be able to start within 3 weeks with Live Scan completed (Live Scan fee reimbursed after 90 days). Willing to work at any of the CYW school sites as needed. Willing to work occasional overtime as needed.
