Job Description

Position Overview Windermere Elementary School, part of Ellington Public Schools, is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time morning Kindergarten Aide . This position provides classroom support to kindergarten students while assisting the classroom teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment. Primary Responsibilities Support the classroom teacher with daily instructional and classroom activities. Work directly with kindergarten students in both individual and small-group settings. Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, and other clerical tasks. Help supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed. Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the school's educational program.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will:
Enjoy working with children ages 5-6 in an elementary school setting. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Be dependable, flexible, and able to manage multiple responsibilities throughout the school day. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all interactions. Previous experience working with young children or in a school environment is preferred but not required. Successful applicants must complete a Connecticut state and national criminal background check and a Department of Children and Families (DCF) records review in accordance with Connecticut law.
