Job Description

Embark on a meaningful role supporting students as a paraprofessional within a vibrant elementary school setting near Hockessin, DE. This contract opportunity is available immediately through June 2027, offering full-time hours onsite and the chance to make a positive difference each day. In this position, you will provide crucial one-on-one or program-specific assistance: Support a student on medical leave for the full year, where a male paraprofessional is preferred due to specific caseload needs Serve in the STRIVE program to aid a student with significant emotional needs, with preference for candidates who have therapeutic support experience
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required upon submission (pending permits must have a DEEDS portal screenshot attached) Previous experience in a school or therapeutic environment, especially supporting students with emotional or behavioral needs, is highly valued Candidates must be prepared to pay $85 for CBC fingerprinting, agreeing to this requirement before submission Willingness to work directly with students in-person, Monday through Friday (35 hours weekly, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) If you hold an RBT credential, note that supervision for maintenance of certification must be arranged independently, as it is not provided in this role Documentation including DE Paraeducator Permit and current resume must be submitted for consideration By stepping into this role, youll be instrumental in fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for students who benefit from dedicated, compassionate guidance.
