QUALIFICATIONS
Holds high school transcript or equivalency Experience working with students; preferred Has strong communication skills; writing and speaking in English Has experience working with children in varied settings ; Has working knowledge of behavior management procedures; Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per work day Minimum lifting requirements â€" 50 pounds (with assistance) Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students
Goal:
Work directly with students with guidance from the teacher. Provide coaching and modeling to facilitate the active involvement of students in their educational setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows district and building procedures Adheres to the schedule and breaks developed by the designated administrator Ensures the safety of the students within their work environment Communicates essential information to relevant staff Uses initiative and common sense to solve problems Assists in emergency situations (fire drills, civil defense drills and first aid) Lends support in maintaining discipline of students Ensures student confidentiality Consistently maintains a professional attitude in all settings
