Continuous Description PTA adjunct faculty are accountable for the implementation of the approved curriculum based on the mission/goals and philosophy of the PTA program and the Institution. They are knowledgeable about current trends and issues in healthcare, physical therapy and best practices. Examples of Duties (

Work effectively as part of the overall faculty team. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations, collaborate with other faculty members to meet students' needs. Participate in faculty meetings and respond to requests from administration. Identify resources needed to meet the program outcomes and communicate needs to Program Coordinator. Participate in ongoing program evaluation activities as needed. Maintain standards for course assignments that demonstrate academic rigor in accordance with the course objectives and modules. Communicate with the Program Coordinator as necessary to resolve programmatic issues or concerns. Attend workshops and continuing education sessions aimed at earning the necessary CEUs for license requirements and professional growth. Meet staffing requirements to satisfy student ratios during lab/hands-on sessions. (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Employees will be required to perform other job related duties as required.) Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of physical therapy principles. Knowledge of state laws affecting a physical therapy assistant program and its operations. Ability in numerical reasoning and verbal expression. Ability in written communication. Ability to present information in a coherent manner and the ability to fairly evaluate student retention of that information. Computer literate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Currently holds an active, unencumbered license as a PT or PTA in Florida. At least three (3) years of experience in the field of physical therapy. Computer literate. Holds a bachelor's degree or higher in a health or education related field.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction). Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid). Moderate (15 to 44 lbs.) lifting and carrying.
