Assistant Teacher - 3-Year-Old Classroom A reputable and nurturing daycare center committed to providing exceptional care and early childhood education to children in our community. We are currently seeking a dedicated, caring, and reliable Assistant Teacher to join our 3-year-old classroom team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, is patient and nurturing, and is eager to support the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging classroom environment. Position Overview As an Assistant Teacher in our 3-year-old classroom, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. You will assist with daily classroom activities, routines, supervision, and learning experiences while providing individual attention and encouragement to each child. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young children and wants to be part of a supportive early childhood education team. Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines. Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans. Engage children in play, learning activities, and hands-on experiences.
Help create a safe, positive, and welcoming classroom environment. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and nap time. Provide attentive and nurturing care to each child. Assist children with potty training, toileting, handwashing, and other self-help skills. Help children develop positive social skills, independence, and appropriate classroom behaviors. Assist with meals, snacks, and classroom transitions.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained classroom. Assist with sanitizing toys, materials, tables, and classroom areas as needed. Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and guardians. Observe children's behavior and development and communicate relevant observations to the Lead Teacher. Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and Florida DCF childcare requirements. Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members. Be dependable, punctual, and prepared to actively participate in the classroom throughout the day. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 45 DCF Hours required. Basic English communication skills required. Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting is preferred. CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related education is a plus. Must be patient, kind, dependable, and nurturing. Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions from the Lead Teacher. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain. Must be willing to complete required background screening and clearances. Ability to safely supervise and care for young children throughout the day.
