Preschool Director
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The teacher aide is responsible for duties assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Director/Principal
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
The employee is a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both his or her professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education. Must have excellent interpersonal and computer skills; Ability to present information concisely and effectively; handle sensitive information in a confidential manner; organize and prioritize work, multi-task and work independently with little supervision; Team player.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is able to work one-on-one with individual students. Works with small groups of children on designated projects or assignments as requested by the teacher. Helps teachers with small group activities. Observes student behavior and reports unusual or inappropriate behavior to the teacher or director. Collects and prepares materials for class projects, demonstrations, experiments, etc. Accompanies classes on field trips. Assists teacher with the organization of material for distribution to families, such as, the informational newsletter and school handouts. Sorts and files student papers; grades papers, runs copies, keeps the room organized during and after activities as directed by supervising teacher. Assists teachers with bulletin boards. Assists with before-school playground, lunch, and recess supervision as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have 40 hours of state training through Child Services for PreK aide. Experience working with children in a classroom setting is preferred.
