Overview looking for Lead Chef Instructors and Chef assistants Chef Instructor We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Lead Chef Instructor to join our vibrant culinary education team. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of engaging cooking classes and arts programs that inspire creativity, foster skill development, and promote a love for culinary arts among diverse age groups. As a leader in our program, you will oversee curriculum design, manage classroom environments, and mentor aspiring chefs and young learners alike. Your energetic approach and expertise will help cultivate a lively, inclusive atmosphere where students can thrive and explore their culinary talents.
Responsibilities Curriculum & Class Execution:
Lead and deliver engaging, hands-on cooking classes, camps, and workshops across various age groups, ensuring recipes, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards are strictly followed.
Kitchen & Studio Operations:
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-organized learning kitchen. Oversee station setups, equipment handling, and ingredient prep before and after each class.
Classroom Management & Safety:
Foster a positive, inclusive, and enthusiastic learning environment. Implement effective behavior management and rigorous kitchen safety protocols (knife handling, heat safety, and allergy awareness) tailored to children and teens.
Student Mentorship & Assessment:
Guide aspiring young chefs in developing fundamental culinary skills, flavor profiling, food presentation, and teamwork. Provide constructive feedback to support student growth throughout multi-week courses or seasonal programs.
Staff & Assistant Collaboration:
Work closely with studio management and support staff/student assistants to coordinate daily workflows, manage class timelines, and ensure a seamless student experience.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Uphold the academy's brand standards for food quality, presentation, and educational engagement, ensuring every class delivers both high instructional value and a fun experience.
Skills Culinary Expertise & Instruction:
Strong foundation in cooking techniques, baking fundamentals, food science, and recipe execution, with the ability to break down complex culinary concepts into age-appropriate, digestible lessons.
Classroom Management & Youth Engagement:
Proven ability to manage groups of children and teens (ages 4+), keeping students engaged, focused, and motivated in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Kitchen Safety & Sanitation:
Comprehensive knowledge of strict commercial kitchen safety protocols, including proper knife handling, heat and appliance safety, cross-contamination prevention, and allergy awareness.
Leadership & Team Motivation:
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to guide student behavior, direct assistant instructors or junior helpers, and foster an inclusive, confidence-building atmosphere.
Communication & Adaptability:
Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with young learners, parents, and studio management, with the flexibility to adapt lesson pacing on the fly.
Organizational & Multi-Tasking Abilities:
Highly organized with the ability to oversee multiple kitchen stations, manage strict class timelines, and maintain a clean, orderly studio workspace. Chef Assistant We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable Culinary Assistant to support our chef instructors and studio management in delivering fun, hands-on cooking classes, camps, and workshops. In this role, you will help prep ingredients, manage kitchen stations, maintain strict sanitation standards, and assist young chefs (ages 4+) as they explore the culinary arts. Responsibilities Kitchen Prep & Setup:
Assist lead chefs with pre-class food preparation, measuring ingredients, and setting up individual or group kitchen stations with necessary tools and equipment.
Classroom & Student Support:
Help guide young students during hands-on cooking and baking lessons, offering gentle encouragement, ensuring proper technique, and helping maintain an organized workflow.
Kitchen Sanitation & Safety:
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly workspace throughout classes. Assist with post-class cleanup, dishwashing, equipment storage, and adherence to safety protocols.
Safety & Allergy Monitoring:
Keep a watchful eye on classroom safety (including heat and knife handling) and help enforce strict allergy-safe practices in the studio.
Studio Operations:
Collaborate with studio management and instructors to ensure smooth daily schedules, smooth transitions between classes, and a welcoming environment for families.
Skills & Qualifications Culinary Interest & Aptitude:
A strong passion for cooking, baking, and food safety, with a foundational understanding of basic kitchen tools and techniques.
Youth Engagement & Patience:
Friendly, upbeat, and patient demeanor with a natural ability to connect with and support children and teens in a fast-paced environment.
Reliability & Organization:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, with the ability to take direction well and multi-task efficiently.
Team Player:
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude to support lead instructors and work seamlessly with the team.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for extended periods, move kitchen equipment, and assist with active studio setup and teardown.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 15.0 per week
