Full Job Description Hours:
10:00 AM•6:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
Pay Range:
$18•20/hour (commiserate with experience), full time, benefits eligible Job Summary The School Support Coordinator & Assistant Extended Day Program (EDP) Director splits their time equally to support our students all day long. This person should be dependable, organized, flexible, and comfortable working with students across multiple grade levels. This individual should be able to step into a leadership role when needed, support counselors with student behavior and activities, and assist teachers and school staff with various daily responsibilities. From 10:00 AM-2:00 PM , the position focuses on school-wide student support, including recess, lunch, classroom coverage, transitions, and other needs identified by administration. From 2:00 PM-6:00 PM , the position transitions into the role of Assistant EDP Director, supporting staff, students, programming, and daily operations. Essential Responsibilities School Support | 10:00 AM-2:00 PM Assist with recess and lunch supervision. Support student transitions throughout the school day. Provide classroom coverage or additional student supervision when needed. Assist teachers with daily activities and special projects. Support school events, activities, and functions. Help address student needs that arise during the school day. Assist administration and faculty with other school-support responsibilities as assigned. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with students, faculty, staff, and families. Extended Day Program | 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Assist the EDP Director with the daily operation and supervision of the program. Help organize and coordinate student groups, staff coverage, and daily activities. Support counselors with behavior management and student concerns. Monitor student safety and help ensure EDP policies and procedures are followed. Assist with afternoon dismissal and parent pickup procedures. Communicate concerns with students, staffing, or the program to the EDP Director. Assist with staff coverage and adjust when unexpected needs arise. Step in for the EDP Director when the Director is absent or unavailable. Assist with daily opening and closing responsibilities. Ensure EDP spaces are clean, organized, and prepared for the following day. Professional Expectations The person in this position should: Serve as a positive role model for students and staff. Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Remain calm and professional when addressing student behavior or unexpected situations. Work collaboratively with counselors, teachers, and administration. Be flexible and willing to assist wherever the greatest need exists. Take initiative while understanding when situations should be referred to the EDP Director or school administration. Help create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for students. Support the EDP Director in maintaining consistency and accountability throughout the program. Job Qualifications Experience working with children in a school, childcare, EDP, camp, or similar setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and developmental levels. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to handle student behavior appropriately and professionally. Must meet all school/EDP requirements for employment, including required background checks.
