Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at O'Leary Middle School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position involves supporting students and teachers in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering student growth, promoting a positive learning atmosphere, and assisting in the implementation of educational programs. Responsibilities Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, by providing individualized attention and assistance. Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and support as necessary. Facilitate small group activities and provide additional instruction to reinforce concepts taught in class. Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in educational practices. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student success. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Requires two years of college, an AA degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (Praxis Exam). Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Basic knowledge of educational practices and child development principles. Must pass background checks and meet any other requirements as mandated by the school district.
