Job Description

Step into a rewarding role making a daily impact on young learners as a full-time paraprofessional for the 20262027 school year. In this contract position, youll work closely with dedicated educators to provide hands-on support to elementary students at a lively North Chicago-area school. Your workweek will run Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Bring your compassion and resourcefulness to assist with classroom management, offering one-on-one and small group support to studentsespecially those with challenging behaviors. This vital role is best suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is eager to foster positive growth in children.
Desired Qualifications:
Illinois Para Certification (required) Prior experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly those with behavioral challenges Previous experience with toileting assistance (preferred) Ability to adapt and remain positive within an energetic classroom Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment Offer instructional assistance to students, including 1:1 support when necessary Facilitate student engagement across classroom activities Provide toileting assistance and attend to physical needs as needed Make a meaningful difference each day, helping shape a supportive and encouraging learning environment for students who need it most.
