Job Description
Shift:
First Shift,Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri Metro Prep High School, Grade School and Laureate Day School have been educating and supporting students with special needs for over 25 years supported by FGC. Using a multidisciplinary approach, Metro Prep and Laureate Day School provides educational and therapeutic learning opportunities in a small, nurturing environment. This allows our staff to tailor each student's program to meet his or her individual needs. Laureate Day School serves students third
•eighth grade.
Essential Duties:
Ability to establish positive, therapeutic relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Knowledge of therapeutic classroom practices, behavior management strategies, and special education programming. Ability to support classroom instruction, student supervision, behavior interventions, and implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications under teacher direction. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, counselors, administrators, related service providers, school districts, parents/guardians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, school policies, and applicable federal and state laws.

Pay Rate:
$41,600 Metropolitan Preparatory and Laureate Day School are a Drug Free Environment (including THC and/or CBD). DCFS clearance required. Experience and Skills:
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 30 semester hours of college credit required. Candidates must meet Illinois paraprofessional requirements by possessing at least 30 semester hours of college credit, an Associate's degree or higher, or successfully passing the Illinois Paraprofessional Test (or other state-approved qualification). Experience working with students with social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, or learning needs is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License (PEL), if required by Illinois law. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Certification required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
