Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a key support role within a vibrant educational setting, making a difference each day as a paraprofessional. In this dynamic contract position, you'll collaborate directly with teachers, staff, and students to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. Your commitment to helping students thrive—both academically and personally—will be central to the classroom experience. What we're looking for: Previous experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide preferred. Ability to build rapport with students of varying backgrounds and abilities. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards daily challenges. Familiarity with implementing teacher-directed lesson plans and behavior management strategies. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in education or special needs support is a plus. Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a diverse education team.
Key responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers with daily lesson plans and classroom management. Support students individually or in small groups to promote understanding and skill development. Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming environment for students. Contribute to student documentation, as directed, and communicate effectively with staff and families. Adapt resources and materials as needed to support student success. Supervise students during activities, transitions, and, as required, lunch or recess periods.
