DESCRIPTION
Madison District Public Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic GSRP Associate Teacher to support the implementation of a high-quality preschool program. The associate teacher works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes the academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of all children.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or willingness to obtain required GSRP qualifications. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and classroom routines. Support individual students and small groups in developing school readiness skills. Foster positive relationships with children through developmentally appropriate interactions. Assist with classroom management, supervision, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom. Support meal, snack, toileting, arrival, dismissal, and playground routines. Observe and document student progress as directed by the teacher. Encourage positive social-emotional development using positive behavior supports. Participate in family engagement activities and program events as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Perform other duties as assigned.
