Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional to join our dynamic educational team. Duties Support classroom instruction by assisting with lesson planning, curriculum development, and implementing tailored activities aligned with students' IEPs. Provide physical assistance and behavioral support for students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with behavioral disorders. Use communication skills such as American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate effective interaction with students who have communication challenges. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies designed for students with special needs. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop comprehensive support plans that promote student success. Assist in classroom organization, including materials preparation, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting early childhood education practices like Montessori or preschool activities. Support literacy education, basic math instruction, and other core subjects while ensuring all students receive personalized attention and encouragement. Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or preschool programs. Experience supporting students with disabilities or special education needs, including familiarity with IEPs and behavior management techniques. Background working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is advantageous. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for collaborating effectively with team members and engaging students positively. Classroom experience in private schools or special education environments will be considered a plus. Ability to provide physical assistance when necessary to support students' mobility or daily activities in accordance with safety standards.
