Job Description
Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic Preschool Teacher / Assistant Director to join us at Sandcastle Academy. We are a department of Illinois Youth and Family Services and are funded by a Preschool For All grant through Illinois State Board of Education. Our center offers an exciting opportunity to provide FREE education for children ages 3-5 and a generous work environment for staff. Duties Guide children to follow the daily schedule and ensure all safety protocols are followed. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, address concerns, and promote family engagement. Contribute to planning creative activities, marketing the preschool, and purchasing materials within a budget. Maintain compliance with licensing regulations and educational standards while continuously seeking opportunities for program improvement. Requirements Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education or Child Development. 3 credits in Leadership, Administration, Management or Gateways Level 1 Illinois Director Credential. At least 1 year of teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting. Demonstrate patience and organization skills to coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
