Adult Education Description ABE/ASE Teacher's Aids work closely with ABE/ASE Instructors to support adult learners in pursuit of their GED credentials. This role involves providing assistance in various instructional activities, maintaining a positive learning environment, and offering additional support to students as needed. Examples of Duties Assists in preparing and distributing instructional materials for students and setting up classroom for lessons. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during class activities. This can include offering guidance and support to adult learners as they work through GED source materials, provide clarification and explanations on concepts covered in class, and assisting students with practice exercises and assignments. Help to maintain an organized and conducive learning environment. Aids in the record-keeping process by maintaining attendance records and student progress reports. Assist students in navigating educational software and online resources used for GED Preparation. Troubleshoot technical issues related to computers or other instructional technology. Collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to student support. Communicate regularly with teachers regarding student progress, challenges, and areas for improvement. Maintains appropriate levels of books and materials for the assigned remote classes including reviewing inventory and reporting needs to management. Works with off-site locations to set up and tear down assigned remote learning areas to ensure that space is ready when students arrive for start of each class, that the space is maintained in good order during each class, and that equipment and materials are secured at all times when classes are not in session. Performs liaison functions between the site and the College to ensure that all conditions and agreements made in relation to the remote site partnerships are appropriately maintained. Maintains an open, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere at the site and in the classroom while maintaining sensitivity to cultural, gender and age differences. Attends staff meetings as necessary. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others achieve personal goals. Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel Basic proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of students and teachers. Must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
