Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by stepping into an engaging, hands-on support role for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, contract opportunity near Winnetka, IL for a paraprofessional dedicated to fostering a positive classroom environment alongside educators. Work 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, providing invaluable classroom assistance and individualized student support at the elementary level.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instructional activities and effective classroom management Offer tailored assistance to students as needed, including 1:1 support and facilitating participation during learning activities Help ensure the safety and comfort of students, including assistance with toileting when required Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere Adapt to the needs of students with a variety of behavioral and educational profiles
Skills & Experience:
Valid Illinois Paraprofessional certification is required Prior experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those demonstrating challenging behaviors Experience with toileting support is preferred Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic classroom setting Demonstrated dedication to supporting students' educational and social development This position offers a competitive pay rate of $45 per hour, rewarding your dedication and expertise in student support.
