The Early Education School is a play-based, Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood program in Bloomington, Indiana. We believe children learn best through meaningful relationships, hands-on experiences, exploration, creativity, and plenty of opportunities to play. Our classrooms are active, collaborative spaces where teachers work together to create environments that respond to children's interests while supporting their social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. We are looking for an Assistant Preschool Teacher who is dependable, engaged, and ready to be an active member of our preschool teaching team. Position Overview The Assistant Preschool Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom for children 3-4 years old. This is not a position where you simply "help out" when asked. Our Assistant Teachers are active members of the classroom. They build relationships with children, supervise and engage throughout the day, participate in classroom activities and projects, support routines and transitions, and help to maintain an environment where children can learn through play and exploration in a safe way. Responsibilities Actively supervise and engage with children throughout the day Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families Ability to multitask, quickly monitoring and moving in to engage with children during conflict or safety concerns. Support the Lead Teacher in implementing play-based learning experiences, projects, and classroom activities Participate in classroom routines including meals, toileting, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play Observe children and contribute to documentation of their learning and development Help children develop independence, problem-solving skills, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment Communicate and collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other members of the Kid Angles team Follow all Indiana childcare licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and Kid Angles policies Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training Receive feedback professionally and work toward individual and classroom goals

Experience & Qualifications Previous experience working with young children in a professional setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates reliability, initiative, and a genuine interest in early childhood education. Applicants must meet Indiana child care employment requirements and be willing to complete required background checks, health requirements, orientation, and ongoing professional development. Education or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field is a plus.
