This contract role offers multiple opportunities to work alongside passionate educators at either the elementary or high school level, with weekly hours set at 32.5 for elementary and 37.5 for high school positions near South Bend, IN. What we're looking for: Experience supporting classroom teachers as a paraprofessional, particularly within K-12 settings. Strong understanding of core subjects, and ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction. Capability to work with students at different developmental stages, specifically those in elementary or high school. Knowledge of strategies to promote reading readiness. Sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of English Language Learners, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming classroom. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families. What you'll be doing: Assisting certified teachers in classroom management, lesson reinforcement, and individual or small group instruction. Delivering direct support to students who benefit from additional assistance in reading, writing, and math. Contributing to the development and implementation of educational activities tailored to students' learning levels. Supporting English Language Learners with activities and materials that foster language acquisition and academic achievement. Participating in team meetings, professional development, and regular communication with teachers and school personnel. Helping foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
