Job Qualifications:

Minimum of 64 college credit hours

Specific Duties:

1. Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher. 2. Maintain records of student progress. 3. Perform routine clerical duties such as preparation of instructional and classroom materials; maintain classroom records; maintain attendance records. 4. Assist students with special assignments/problems as time permits. 5. Assist with class work at the request of the teacher. 6. Provide substitute coverage in classrooms as needed. 7. Monitor and report behavior of students according to approved procedures; report progress regarding student performance and behavior. 8. Supervise students in activities in the school buildings and/or on school grounds. 9. Provide support to the teacher by setting up work areas, displays and exhibits, operating audio-visual equipment, operating educational training equipment and distributing and collecting paper and supplies. 10. Assist in administering diagnostic and other tests; score and record test information. 11. Assist in providing a desirable learning environment through maintaining a clean, neat, and attractive classroom. 12. Participate as a member of an instructional team including remediation teams, guided reading, and other teams as needed. 13. Direct group activities of students as assigned. 14. Assist in monitoring lunchrooms and playground activities as assigned. 15. Assist in monitoring emergency drills, assemblies, non-instructional time and field trips as assigned. 16. Perform other duties assigned by the teacher, principal, or superintendent.
