Assistant Teacher

Basic Function:

Plan, implement, and administer Kidz World Childcare, Inc. program operations and activities to meet the established requirements of Kidz World Childcare, Inc. and the Kentucky Childcare Licensure Board.

Minimum qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age.

Any combination equivalent to:

high school diploma, GED certificate, and Childcare Development Associate (CDA) or be working toward obtaining one by 2021. One years experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred not required

Knowledge/Experience of:

Activity planning for child development program. Theories of parent-child relationships. Policies, procedures, and philosophy of child development program. Principles of supervision and training. Health and safety precautions and procedures. Equipment, materials, and supplies used in a child care program. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Ability to:

Plan and direct the activities of the classroom Plan, develop, organize, and evaluate activities and experience for children. Use materials appropriate for assigned age levels. Complete supply request, inventory, store, and maintain supplies and equipment for the program. Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, children, students, and parents. Work independently with little direction. Analyze situations accurately and adopt effective course of action. Complete work with many interruptions. Maintain a healthy and safe environment. Apply appropriate first aid. Apply and explain policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Be available for mandatory training as required by the state of KY and Kidz World. Lift heavy objects.
