WAIVER Announcement:

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year. Freedom is seeking a positive, nurturing, and motivated person to assist our students in learning. This person will be responsible for collaborating with general and special education teachers to support our students. Other responsibilities include motivating students, reteaching concepts, and guiding students in the resource and/or general education classroom setting. udents are cared for and provided the proper supports to ensure each student grows.

Position Details Hours:

6.5 hours per day

NOTE:

(plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Contract Length:

183 days per year 170 student instructional days 4 holidays 7 planning days 2 extended days

Contract Adjustments:

Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

10-month employee on the classified salary schedule. Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Must meet one of the following: 48 college semester hours An Associate's Degree OR High school diploma plus a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam.

Documentation:

Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire. Compensation & Experience Credit 2026-2027 pay scale Step 0: $16.46 Step 10: $20.26 We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.

Experience Credit:

New employees may transfer up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

It is the employee's responsibility to submit the BCPS Verification of Experience form to previous employers.

Payroll Note:

While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula:
